We’re back, kinda

I’ve been composing a post in my head for the last month, and realized that it’s never going to be enough to apologize for our absence. We haven’t forgotten about this account, or all of you. This has just been a very hard last two years, and the rollercoaster just keeps on going, you know?

The short version is, we’re getting better, and worse. But we’re finally feeling almost like ourselves again. We’re busier than before, but I think we’re happier.

But most importantly, we’re writing again. We’re editing. We’re trying to get the last four books out again so we can get on with our various series and finish the stories we started telling you. We love you all, and we never stopped thinking about you. 🫶💖

Nanowrimo

Wow is it already the 8th? Here’s our Nanowrimo update! Yes, we’re still doing it this year and killing it! It’s a tradition at this point to work on our Lost Children series during November. In fact, October Shadows was our first Nano win in 2015!

It’s been hard, but we’re doing our best! And yes, this is book 9, yeah, we’ve only published 2, but we’ve written 8 so far.

It’s a little unfair that we’ve got two of us, but we’ve been adding the extra challenge of writing 100k for a few years. We’ve managed it once or twice, that was a lot of fun!

September 2020 Update

Hey everyone! It’s Brennan, though some of you might know me as EterniiTea/Tea. I’m here today to give you good folks an update!

Syndrome of Mortality is now live, so we’re at 2/7 books up and available again with new covers, and edits. We have a long way to go, and I won’t lie, I wish we were further along, but you know what, I’m proud of how much we’ve done!

2020 has been an insane year, but we’ve been doing our best!

We aren’t done, we still have one more book that we’re going to get to you this year, and that’s Soul Rain! For those of you who don’t know, Soul Rain is Nick’s project! He’s been working on it since high school, and it’s come such a long way. We are so excited to get this book back out, there’s only one small story change. I should say, the change in this book is small, but the ripples into the next book and the book after are huge. It’s amazing how one small thing can make such a difference.

I mentioned that this is Nick’s project, and it is! He works on this one on his own, and I’m mostly just moral support, and a person to bounce ideas off of! I’ll explain our process in a different blog post but the short version is we have two collaborative series active, and two individual series active. Soul Rain is Nick’s, Cruentus is mine, and we both work on Heaven’s Sword and Lost Children.

The time frame for Soul Rain is pretty loose, we’re considering the end of November for a release time frame. Before then, we hope to share plenty of art with you all!

Full disclosure, I had been aiming for the end of this month, September 2020. I’d been pushing myself to do so and just getting frustrated because let me tell you, publishing a book takes a lot of time. If it didn’t, we wouldn’t have the backlog that we do. As of writing this, we’ve finished writing the Heaven’s Sword Trilogy and we’ve written December, January, February, March, April, and May in Lost children. We have also both started the next book in our solo series, and we have a backlog of what series we have planned next!

Nick and I sat down and really talked about what the plans are for the release schedule, and we both agreed that we don’t need to do this at a sprint. So right now the schedule looks something like this:

Soul Rain: November 2020

Cruentus: 2021

Inimicus: 2021

October Shadows: 2021

November Strife: 2021

Fingers crossed that we can also release our next new book out in 2021 as well. The Memories Trilogy is something that we’re really excited for. It’s a series of 3 novellas, and oh boy, you guys are in for a ride. Then there’s also December Shiver, which is the third book of the Lost Children series. We introduce some of my favorite characters in the series in this book, and man I can’t wait for you to meet them!

I really hope you guys read this far, and I hope you guys are as excited as we are. We really just want to share our crazy brains and all the characters who camp there with you guys. What matters most to us is that someone finds enjoyment in our work, and knowing that there are people who do means the world to us.

Thanks for sticking around, and to anyone new here: Welcome! We have so much more coming.

Republishing

Hey, it’s Brennan coming at you with an update!

I probably don’t have much of substance to say, surprising, I know. We got Angel Syndrome out again, but as you know that’s just one out of six. It’s been a trip revisiting the book that started it all for us. It had also been 4 years since I cracked it open, and there were more than a few moths and a nice layer of dust. That’s not to say I don’t love Angel Syndrome and Seneal as a whole, it’s just super hard to go back and look at your old stuff.

I don’t think I could ever properly convey how much Seneal means to me, that setting is pretty much why Nick and I are friends. Two weird teens bonding over an RP board that no longer exists. Yes, that fact still hurts me to the core.

At this rate I think that book 2, Syndrome of Mortality is going to be out by the end of August, and then I’m going to start work on Soul Rain. After that, who knows?

I know I’ve been trying to just go with the flow for 2020, and it seems to be working at this point. Maybe I’ll finally get my footing by the end of the year and then fall down the rabbit hole again for 2021.

I can’t wait to release something new again, it’s not like we lack content either. Our backlog could keep us afloat for years. We really don’t even need to write a single word for at least three. We’ve finished writing the Heaven’s Sword trilogy, and we’re eight books deep into the Lost Children Series. Yeah, you read that right, eight. It’s going to be twelve total, starting in October and ending in September. We have the whole thing outlined, and it’s getting to the end. I’m going to be sad to see it end, but we have enough spin offs and sequels to make your head spin!

Okay, I think this is rambling enough at this point. But I will share one more thing! We got the proof for Syndrome of Mortality in today, and I was going to share it with you all but…

Sushi said no.

A Quick Update

Just wanted to give a quick update about the state of our books. I’ll admit, the delay on Pallaca, the sequel to Cruentus, has been my fault. I’ve been procrastinating, because despite being a book that I love and a book that I loved writing, I just didn’t feel like it was ready.

I finally figured out what it is, so things are finally back on track.

We don’t have the release date yet, but we’re hard at work making sure we can get it out as soon as possible! This book means a lot to me, it’s the story I’ve wanted to tell for a long long time, in fact I wrote the first version of this book back in 2012.

I sincerely hope that every person who reads it likes it, and feels the emotion I put into it.

These characters and this particular story has been a big part of my life for a decade and I just want to share them with as many people as possible.

That being said, I hope to have more updates on the release coming soon!
